On the Issues

When I first ran for office, our schools were in crisis. You showed up on election day and together we made history to continue to move Worcester Public Schools forward. Here are some highlights of what we’ve accomplished in just two years:

Hired a new superintendent through a national search
Boosted wellness programming
Increased the number of positions for mental health services across all grade levels
Established a partnership with WooSox Foundation to create an annual Day of Wellness at Polar Park
Conducted safety audits of all schools
Spearheaded the addition of water bottle filling stations to ensure safe drinking water availability at all Worcester Public Schools
Supported the Fair Share Amendment Act

In 2022, I was elected Vice Chair of the School Committee by my fellow committee members to help lead our efforts. There’s still so much work to do, and I look forward to continuing to fight for:

Safe and Healthy Schools

Investing in school safety and healthy school buildings is long overdue. I’ll continue to ensure our schools have proper ventilation and air conditioning. Every kid should feel safe both in and outside of school.

Social Emotional Supports

Mental health and youth support services are on the decline. As a parent and a social worker, I will continue to fight for trauma-informed policies, safe spaces, year-round jobs, and community-based programs.

High-Quality Education

Children, parents, and educators are still recovering from the challenges and setbacks of remote learning. I’ll continue to advocate to expand robust civics, arts and STEM programs that are equitable and accessible for all.
